    The School Services’ Focus Programme
    is offered annually by the National Library
    of New Zealand — Te Puna Matauranga
    o Aotearoa to all schools to assist them
    to manage and develop their library to
    support teaching and learning
    programmes. Entr[...]ved to date by Te
    Kotutuku include the writing of library
    policies; implementing a library
    management automation system;
    providing internet and CD-Rom access;
    refurbishing the library with new shelving
    and furniture; installing bilin[...]stance to install
    a ramp for whanau access to the library.
    In addition, time has been made available

    spend at least an hour daily in the library.

    The kura is currently networking the
    library with the two classrooms and office.

    Manager, retired at the end of June.

    Pat was farewelled at Lower Hutt Library
    by past and present work colleagues.
    Several spee[...]on of some
    of her memories of the job. The Petone
    Library staff presented a quilt to Pat,
    which they had co[...]of the Hutt City
    Libraries.

    Pat attended the NZ Library Association
    Diploma Course in 1970 having been a
    secondary school teacher in charge of
    the library at Kelston Girls School in
    Auckland. She joined Lower Hutt Public

    as the Children’s Librarian i[...]of her strategy to involve the
    community with the library. She read to
    big groups in places like Naenae
    shopping centre and Avalon Park and
    outside the main library. During this time
    she was one of the founding peo[...]Pat worked as a reference
    librarian at Lower Hutt Library and from
    1979 — 1983 she managed the Petone
    Technical Institute Library. She returned
    to the public library scene as the Deputy
    City Librarian at Lower Hutt[...]on of the city, she
    became Director of Children's Library
    Services of the Hutt City Libraries. Further
    mana[...]t embarking on her most
    recent position as Petone Library &
    Service Centre Manager.
