    development of multicultural library services for the Waitakere
    area. Anoma’s commit[...]brarian has resulted in growth and variety to the
    library's services. She was appointed to this role in 1995 after
    graduating from Massey University and gaining library
    qualifications and work experience through Glen Eden Public
    Library. Suzanne Porter, fellow presenter and Waitakere
    Libraries Manager, started her career with the Napier City
    Library. Deputy City Librarian in 1987, she was then
    approached to manage both the Library and Visitor
    Information Centre which she did unti[...]ent:

    benchmark our library with others.”

    Ainslie left Lincoln University Library at Easter to take up a
    new position as University[...]n industrial chemist then left the laboratory for Library School.
    She has chaired the New Zealand Vice-Chan[...]of the
    NZLIA. Ainslie had led Lincoln University Library since 1988,
    first as College Librarian. She would like to be remembered for
    delivering the transformation of library services at Lincoln from
    a collection-centred, ca[...]fter 18 years as
    Medical Librarian at the Philson Library, University of Auckland.
    She was instrumental in[...]non-American instructor accredited
    by the Medical Library Association. She also acted as a
    consultant on the development of hospital library services in
    Australia. She was a strong advocate[...]act:

    the Prairies. Combining wheat was familiar but[...]left lots of time to read
    volumes from the ranch library (titlessuch as The Last Days of
    Pompeii, The Wand[...]wa School was followed
    by a permanent position as Library Adviser at the Country
    Library Service in Christchurch. And memorable days they[...]Mahy, as my boss. A move to the Teachers College Library to
    the quaintly-named position of Joint Librarian[...]re combined on the Ilam site.
    The new Henry Field Library was sheer luxury compared with
    the town site prefab and is still in my unbiased opinion the best
    college library in the country.

    The eighties were momentous time[...]y 1997 from the Christchurch College
    of Education Library. Our best wishes for your retirement, Gerry.

    into the New Zealand Dairy Board Library's trial of the NZLIA’s
    Cost Benefit methodology[...]Philippa Pointon. The
    trial report shows that the library's return on investment exceeds
    the 13% required b[...]trial, statistical
    information on a wide range of library and information services
    and products was collect[...]these products and services to
    the clients of the library. The result of this combination is a
    measurement[...]t value attributable to clients
    who choose to use library services and/or products. The return
    to the library is then analysed and cross checked using two
    diff[...]analysis, and a written report.
    Additionally, the library staff at the Dairy Board assisted the
    trial process by running a Library and Client survey over a
    calendar month, during w[...], it also
    tested the time input required within a library setting, to

    service delivery within the Dairy Board Library. With the
    increase in challenges to the effective[...]n any organisation to examine the impact that the library
    has on its clients, to determine what benefits it[...]hat the
    continued funding of, and support for the library can be justified.
    At the Dairy Board, we were for[...]nal experience I know how
    difficult it can be for library managers striving to provide an
    efficient and eff[...]menting the methodology, or even in trialling it, library
    managers will, if they are not able to fund a sec[...]the collection of data on,
    and the reporting of, library activity. That approach, coupled
    with the develop[...]t measures for
    services and products will provide library managers with the
    tools required to negotiate sus[...]work
