Oh, and celebrate your successes! In Selwyn we are
opening a new library building in a few weeks and
although it is not the biggest or most glamorous library
you've ever seen, it is a vast improvement on wha[...]ght now while dressing the place, it is *our* new
library but at the point of opening to the public it
becomes *their* new library. I'm going to do everything I
can to capture their feelings about the new library,
record them and push them at our decision makers[...]us all.

In a recent discussion with a
group of Public Library Managers
it was suggested that there is a
lot of[...]king at other
projects that need sponsorship like Library Week and
the LIANZA Chi|dren’s Book Awards. So[...]June. We received a grant from them last
year for Library Week which meant we were able to
develop,[...]
[...]r annual plan for training
which was published in Library Life last month and it is
our intention to be even ear[...]luding Conference.

Planning is well underway for Library Week 2009 and
we hope to have the theme and detai[...]be published mid May and posters distributed with
Library Week collateral in early July. Our judges this
ye[...]k cut out for them. There will be an
event during Library Week in Wellington to present the
awards and we a[...]on who is
eligible to stand, nominate and vote.
