ProfileMiss Blackett was born in Newcastle-on-Tyne and educated in England. She joined the Canterbury Public Library in 1911 and in 1918 was appointed as Chief Librarian at Wanganui [sic] Public Library. She was secretary of the Wanganui Centennial Historical Committee in 1939.
