Have you thought about submitting an abstract or proposal for a conference but just never got around to it or didn’t know where to start? Well, the purpose of this webinar is to walk you through the process of abstract development and submission and help you create an excellent abstract or proposal for submission to a conference. Abstracts are generally paragraphs with a word limit that give the essence of your presentation for a conference and by the end of this webinar you will:
Understand the characteristics of conference abstracts and proposals
- Gain an overview of different types of abstracts and proposals
- Learn how to write a strong abstract
- Increase your likelihood of your abstract being accepted for conference
Anne Goulding is Professor of Library and Information Management. Her research interests lie primarily in the area of the management of library and information services and her main focus is on the management of public libraries. She has a particular interest in how library and information services demonstrate the impact of their programmes and services. In recent years, Anne has undertaken research into storytime programmes in public libraries and how they contribute to community-based print and digital literacy. She also has an interest in teaching and learning in the information studies field, including the continuing professional development of librarians and information workers. Anne is Editor of The Journal of Librarianship and Information Science which is one of the foremost journals in the librarianship field. She has published widely in refereed journals and edited works and has given conference presentations on the topic of public library services.
