About this

What are LIANZA up to?

On the advocacy front LIANZA have set up an advocacy working group - we're mapping the sector. We are beginning with our key goals - the outcomes we want to accomplish, and then will be looking at who we need to talk to and what our messages should be in order to make those happen. We'll then be talking to key people in the sector to share out the role of building and expanding relationships on behalf of the sector.

The office is also working on a stakeholder engagement plan - we're looking for ways to collaborate more effectively with other players in the New Zealand market.

We've also developed the]Valuing Libraries Report as we start to collate key research about sector outcomes.

We are keeping track of legislative changes as they arise and are monitoring and commenting on those that directly effect libraries. Where legislative changes are occurring that you are concerned about feel free to get in touch with the LIANZA office.

Issues on our radar include copyright legislation, open data, sector remuneration, and the role of school librarians.

Part of our advocacy strategy has been branding work around libraries. This is discussed under marketing.
